The problem

Independent repair shops lose work in the gap between inspecting a vehicle and getting an approved quote in front of the person who owns it. Shop management software that treats the estimate as paperwork rather than as the thing being sold loses that time back to the shop's competitors.

What we did

  1. 01

Engineers work inside the client's existing repositories and process — one team, one board, no parallel vendor track.

  2. 02

Work spans the management system, the repair and vehicle detail records it hangs off, and the administrative surface behind them.

  3. 03

A Rails and Postgres product with a React front end, containerised, with Redis behind the parts that need to be quick rather than durable.

Outcome

The engagement is current and the same team has stayed with the codebase, which is what an offshore development centre is for: the cost of a standing team is only worth paying when the team accumulates knowledge of a product rather than shipping a project and leaving.
